Abstract

In Santiago de Chile, as in most megacities of the world, transportation activity has an important effect on pollutant emissions. In the case of Santiago, 70% of the total NOx emissions are related to transportation. Likewise, mobile sources generate 46% of total VOC. Due to this high incidence of mobile sources on atmospheric pollution, and the need to improve the emission inventory of Santiago, a better modeling of these effects is required. We incorporate in this modeling some new aspects, such as the grade of the roads.
