Abstract

Abstract The aim of this work is to fit the village of Cerva into the basic programmes for protection and management of the ground water, contributing to a sound policy of land consolidation. This leads to a modern management and an efficient protection of the ground water resources in aspects of the industrial, agricultural and domestic pollution facilitated with an advanced technique of evaluation of the aquifer's vulnerability to pollution for the area of Cerva. The DRASTIC method aided by Geographic Information System tools has been nationally and internationally recognised as a versatile and self-sufficient method to study the vulnerability of ground water to pollution.
