Abstract

The Enterprise-Environmental Connections Diagram C. Gallez Catholic University of Mans (FUCaM), SME and Information Systems Department, B-7000 Mons, Belgium Email: gallez@fucam.ac.be Abstract The purpose of our research is to design a new data structure for the evaluation of the environmental business progress and its origins. This new data structure needs to fulfill several conditions: data should be measurable, keep a track of the relationship between environmental pressures and environmental business responses, be multidimensional, and be independent of the socio-economic- ecological context. We build a double classification of environmental business actions and ecological effects points. It is called the Enterprise-Environment Connections Diagram. Three relations serve as accounting rules to link the environmental actions classification to origins, i.e. union, inclusion and identity relations. The data structure is a contingency table with
