Abstract

Research programs and environmental databases have been numerous over the years concerning the Aral Sea coastal region. They were often "data-rich but information-poor". The huge amount of efforts devoted either to scientific research or to actual action on the field requires a well-defined coordination in order to avoid unnecessary overlap.
