Abstract

Changes of some components of wet deposition in East Germany E. Briiggemann, W.Rolle Institutfur Troposphdrenforschung e. V., Permoserstr. 15, D-04303 Leipzig, Germany ABSTRACT A precipitation network of 15 sites was built-up to characterize the spatial and temporal changes of pollutants Dependent on the great changes of emission of pollutants, resulting from the reformation of industry, decreasing of stock farmings, and increasing of traffic in the former GDR, a significant decrease of sulfate, calcium, and other alkaline components in the precipitation could be observed. INTRODUCTION In 1991 the national research project 'SANA' (Scientific programme of recovery of the atmosphere), supported by the Bundesministerium fur Forschung und Technologic, was initiated to document and characterize the changing air pollution situation and the effects on the biosphere from 1991 to 1995 in East Germany. After the unification in 1990 the emission pattern has been changed stro
