Abstract

In this paper, a boundary element formulation is presented for the solu- tion of three-dimensional viscous Stokes flow past porous bodies. The exter- nal flow is represented in terms of the Stokes integral representation formula and the internal flow by means of the Brinkman integral representation for- mula . It is important to note that the Brinkman formulation has been chosen over the traditional Darcy solution due to its all round effectiveness and lack of analytical restrictions. The successful results at this stage have been presented for both uniform and parabolic flows. 1 Introduction Flow past solid particles of various shapes such as spheres, spheroids, and cylin- ders have been studied quite extensiv
