Abstract

Fractional contact problems with non conforming discretizations using BEM A. Blazquez, F. Paris & J. Canas ETSII, University of Seville, Av. Reina Mercedes, s/n 41012 Sevilla, Spain ABSTRACT An algorithm based on the BEM to deal with contact problems with friction using non conforming discretizations of the boundaries is presented. The load is applied incrementally, the equations that control the problem being linear in each increment. INTRODUCTION The Boundary Element Method has been widely used to deal with the contact problem, the main reason being that the formulation on which the Method is based involves the parts of the bodies where, under the hypothesis of elastic behaviour, the nonlinearities of the contact problem arise: the boundaries of the bodies involved in the contact. Andersson [1], [2] developed the first applications and Paris and Garrido established a direct algorithm of solution to deal with ffictional [3], [4], receding [5] and multico
