Abstract

In the Japanese Design Code for Concrete Reactor Vessels, design allowable concrete temperatures (normal operation: general area 65 °C, local area 90 °C) are specified. To evaluate the impact response of the reinforced concrete structure under high temperature conditions it is important to investigate the strain rate effect of concrete under such high temperature.
