Abstract

In this comprehensive review, comparison and discussions of the observations and results available in the open literature are presented for better understanding the physical nature of flow and heat transfer in microchannels. There seems to be no unequivocal agreement on effects of microchannel geometrical scale m the literature. Several issues arc highly needed for future research. First of all, accurate methodologies for measurements and test procedures are essential and urgent for the correct development. Secondly, appropriate data reduction and the correlating parameters should be developed for better understanding and describing new phenomena. And third, an emphasis is to be made on the interfacial phenomena and interaction at the interface induced by geometrical scale going dawn.
