Abstract

This work aims to approach the improvement of environmental models and scientific information interchange, based on the Intranet/Internet technology. We introduced a Black Box approach to the model using a graphical interface (GUI). Java language, supported by RAD tools, offered outstanding possibilities to develop and test software; furthermore it offers a full portability due to its script-language properties. The GUI will lead to a more friendly and clear interface in the input phase and an interesting data representation in the output phase. Moreover, peculiar characteristics of the language allow an easy adaptability to a web use of this software. The selected case study concerned a typical photochemical model (PBM). 1 Introduction Most models actually used in environmental applications, such as weather
