Abstract

This paper examines the strategies for the management of a volunteering headquarter in the city of Belo Horizonte / Minas Gerais / Brazil. This organization, known as the Third Sector organization, creates groups for educational and psychological support for poor children of school age. The managerial strategies and practices adopted are based on solidarity networks, volunteer manpower, teamwork and philanthropy donations. The implementation of solidarity and community action in the urban space is analyzed, in the search for a strategy for Sustainable Cities.
