Abstract

Ozone Dry Deposition over the Spanish Central Plateau A contribution to subproject BIATEX-2 R. Rodriguez Dept. of Applied Physics. University of Valladolid, Spain Introduction Ozone dry deposition fluxes and velocities were measured in 1994 in a Spanish cerealist steppe, by means of the gradient method. Micrometeorological parameters were calculated using both the eddy correlation and gradient approaches. Downward fluxes were systematically obtained, with a lower but significant values at night-time and maximum values during the middle of the day, showing the important role of the stomata in ozone uptake. The range of deposition velocities was 0.001 to 0.430 cm/s. The nocturnal velocities were relatively high with values up to 0.35 cm/s. A single layer canopy model was applied and validated. The model fitted the daily pattern quite well but underestimated the observed values. To impro
