CalorP, G Catenacci* and G Manzi* 'ENEL SpA - PAM - via Rubattino 54, 20153 Milan, Italy ^Politecnico di Milano - via Ponzio 34/5, 20133 Milan, Italy In order to evaluate the contribution of different emission sources in atmospheric acid depositions, ENEL and CISE have, since 1992, a research project focused on two main subjects. The first one concerns the evaluation of long-period dry and wet deposition fluxes in two selected rural sites: a cultivated area in the Po Valley and a forested area in the pre-Alpine region. In such places, direct measurements of meteorological and chemical parameters by means of automatic analysers and denuder technique (Schorring et al., 1995; Kramm et al., 1994) are used to run and validate a dry deposition inferential model (Meyers et al. 1988; Erisman et al
