A numerical model of the buoyant fluid layer development in the stratified flow was developed and calibrated with the resulting experimental data. Results of numerical simulations agree quite well with experimental data for different stratification conditions. This model may be successfully employed to predict the trajectory of a laminar buoyant jet injected into a single or a double-diffusion (D-D) stratified environment.
