Abstract

Membrane technologies and process engineering applied to water and air treatment, practical works in an environmental engineering curriculum H. Boileau ESIGEC, Universite de Savoie, Campus Technolac, Laboratoire de Genie des Precedes, 73376Le Bourget du Lac, France Introduction ESIGEC is a college of engineering and is an integral part of the University of Savoy. Its name itself means "Higher College of Engineering at Chambery", originally referring to the two branches it started with: Environmental Engineering (EE) and Building Construction Engineering (BCE). The specificity of the Environmental Engineering branch is to teach engineers in the fields of process engineering applied to environmental problems. The studies are organised in two main sectors ; common lessons and branch lessons. During the first year 20 % of the time (i. e. one day per week) is devoted to the specialities of the branch. During the second year, students still have 20 % of their lessons on general engineering sci
