Abstract

This paper presents results of recent studies conducted to assess the groundwater pollution potential of pentachlorophenol (PCP) treated wood. Specifically, studies on leaching rates, adsorption desorption and anaerobic biodegradability under different conditions have been conducted on soils and groundwater collected from wood treating facilities and telephone pole sites in six locations throughout the United States.
