Abstract

The treatment of initial conditions for the three-dimensional time domain Boundary Element formulation is not yet well established, due to the behavior of the fundamental solution classically adopted. In this work another fundamental solution, previously developed by the authors, is taken and a particular procedure to deal with integral representations containing body forces and initial velocity terms is established. Introduction After the works carried out by Coda [1] and Coda & Venturini [2,3], the use of the time "Dirac's Delta Stokes fundamental solution" can be abandoned. For the displacement integral representation, the "Heaviside Stokes fundamental solution" [1,2,3,4] can be applied together with constant time approximation leading to very h
