Abstract:
It is now accepted that the effects of coastal breezes on the dispersion patterns
of the air pollutants are diversified, being very complex their modelization.
However, some progress have been done with better physics included in the
models, prepared to be applied in coastal zones, like the Lisbon case presented
in this study, using the MAR system.
However, the discussion about non-local
closure turbulence scheme versus classical closure remains open with the results
presented for the Aveiro case, using the MEMO and MEMO/TTT (transilient
turbulence theory) where the dispersion of a passive pollutant emitted by a
pulper and paper-mill have a significantly different concentration field.
