Abstract

A system for computerized tomography for applications in plasma physics I. Bandlow, A. Fischer Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science, Ernst-Moritz- Arndt-University, D-17487 Greifswald, Germany 1 Introduction The most prominent application of computerized tomography is still medical imaging in diagnostic radiology, but the problem of determining certain structural properties of an object from projection data arises in a large number of fields such as in plasma physics. Optical emission tomography as a flexible diagnostic method for optically thin low temperature plasmas in laboratory and industrial applications provides a better unterstanding of the internal plasma structure due to certain physical phenomena and can serve as a useful indicator for technological processes. In this article we present our package CTExperimenter of Mathemat- ica functions which was developed in cooperation with plasma physicists for applications of tomographic methods to emission measurements
