Abstract:
Two different methods were applied for estimating the yearly emission rate
of a fly-ash storage site.
In applying the first method, the dust emissions
from the individual sources were assessed and then added up, resulting in an
estimate of the yearly dust emission.
In applying the second method, a series
of long-term meteorological data, and measurements of fugitive-dust concen-
trations and size distributions at various receptor points were entered into
a fugitive-dust dispersion model.
Fugitive dust was sampled using Coarse Dust Recorders.
The samples were
analysed by means of automatic image analysis.
The measurement- and
analytical methods applied were found to be usable for assessing the yearly
dust emission of a fly-ash storage site.
The yearly dust emission of the storage site under investigation was
estimated at between ...
