Abstract:
During the last decade, several process control software products have appeared on
the market.
While presenting educational courses for industrial control engineers,
a special attention is given to the presentation and usage of process control
software tools, because this knowledge is currently necessary in all phases of a
control system's life cycle.
Practical courses from the areas of computer
automation and control are presented using a process control laboratory that is
technologically highly equipped with commercially available industrial sensors and
actuators, different industrial controllers, and monitored by a computer control
system.
The first part of the paper describes the design of the process laboratory,
and the second part presents software products use...
